- 05. February 2025 - Call for papers
19. JungakademikerInnen-Tagung (JAT) / 19th conference for upcoming researchers (CUP)
Graz, 12-13th of June
Deadline CfP: 16th of March 2025
The Department of Classics (Ancient History and Epigraphy) of the University of Graz holds an annual conference targeted at aspiring and upcoming researchers, eager to form connections, present their research and gain feedback from their peers. This year, for its 19th iteration, we are able to open the conference to international applications, in order to provide a platform for a diverse exchange, multi-disciplinary discussions and the possibility to form a widespread network.
We welcome applications from MA and PhD students whose research touches on the topic ,,Ancient work spaces’’. As we do not place restrictions on the geographical location or historical era, we invite archaeological, philological as well as historical contributions on the Greco-Roman world as well as the ancient Near East, ancient Egypt and all surrounding cultures throughout all of Antiquity. Presentations should not exceed 30 minutes (20 minutes talk plus 10 minutes discussion). The organizers are attempting to provide the opportunity for conference participants to publish papers of their talks as conference proceedings. This conference will be streamed online, so an online participation is possible, however, if there are no special personal reasons preventing it, a participation in presence is preferred.
Interested researchers are asked to submit an Abstract (max. 1 page) as well as their CV to veranstaltungen.antike@uni-graz.at. The Deadline for submission is the 16th of March – applicants will receive news of their acceptance at the end of March. For any further questions, please contact the mail address above.
